THE THINGS THAT BRING US TOGETHER

January to June 2021

An online, intergenerational community drama project between Southport Off-Key Choir, an older persons' choir, and Creative Youth Development, a youth service for young persons with disabilities, additional needs or who are not in education, employment or training. The project aimed to reduce social isolation and feelings of loneliness through drama, music, Makaton sign language and a pen-pal letter writing system. The project culminated in a performance of stories and poetry to family and friends via Zoom.

LEARNING FROM LOCKDOWN: BUSY BEES

October 2020 to January 2021

In association with Wirral Council, an online Theatre for Democracy event advocating for a service-level data sharing agreement between providers in the Wirral, Merseyside. As part of a company, I worked with Wirral Ways to Recovery, a branch of Change Grow Live, a rehabilitative service for substance abusers. An online media poem was produced collaboratively between the service providers, service users and our company and shown back to change-makers within the Council.

MOBY DICK

I was one of a trio of facilitators who created the outreach material which accompanied the John Godber Company adaption of Moby Dick, commissioned by the company. This included a resource pack for drama workshops for GCSE students and Year 5 and 6 pupils.

Community Outreach: Services

The way Beth related to the group was ace. Her planning and delivery was something both we as staff and the young people learnt from.

Jamie Greer: Creative Youth Development

I was so impressed with the work the company had put in to turn this around in the current Covid circumstances. So much respect!

Tessa Bundle: Collective Encounters

Beth was very comfortable to work with. She introduced us to a whole new experience and made me value the concept of together. It made me really proud to be a part of this project.
